Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a senior Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant to lead the functional design and configuration of a Marketing Cloud implementation for a Canadian client in a regulated industry. You'll work directly with business stakeholders to shape the campaign strategy, journey design, and data architecture, then partner with developers to bring it to life. This role is based in Canada due to data residency requirements, and candidates must be comfortable with a client-led background check. WHAT YOU'LL DO Functional Design & Advisory • Lead requirements workshops with marketing, CRM, and digital teams • Design customer journeys, lifecycle programmes, and campaign frameworks • Define the subscriber model, preference management, and consent strategy • Advise the client on Marketing Cloud best practices and platform capabilities Solutioning & Configuration • Configure Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Mobile Studio • Define Data Extension structures and contact data models • Document functional specifications for the development team • Own the configuration of standard platform features Delivery & Stakeholder Management • Partner with the architect, developer, and PM on solution design • Run client showcases, UAT support, and platform enablement sessions • Translate business needs into actionable backlog items • Support training, documentation, and handover to operations WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Must-Have • 10+ years of overall Salesforce or martech consulting experience • 4+ years delivering Salesforce Marketing Cloud projects • Strong functional design and requirements-gathering background • Experience leading client workshops and stakeholder conversations • Working knowledge of consent, preference management, and subscriber lifecycle • Based in Canada (mandatory due to data residency) • Comfortable with a client background check Technical Depth • Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder • Contact Builder and Data Designer • Working understanding of AMPscript, SSJS, and SQL (no deep dev required) • Marketing Cloud Connect and integration patterns with Sales or Service Cloud Preferred Certifications • Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Consultant • Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator • Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist NICE TO HAVE • Prior delivery experience in Financial Services, Healthcare, or Public Sector • Familiarity with CASL and PIPEDA compliance • Exposure to Data Cloud, Personalization, or Interaction Studio • Background in a consultancy or SI environment WHAT SETS YOU APART • Ability to balance business strategy with platform realities • Confident running discovery sessions and steering stakeholders to clear decisions • Strong written communication for specs, runbooks, and client-facing artefacts • Bias toward outcomes, not just documentation
