Job Summary:

As a Sales Support Consultant, you will provide commercial leadership and specialized expertise to support the growth and success of Caterpillar's Electric Power business. Working closely with regional sales teams, dealers, and customers, you will develop and implement value-based solutions that strengthen Caterpillar's competitive position and accelerate business growth. This role provides centralized commercial expertise, supports complex sales opportunities, develops capability across the dealer network, and leads strategic initiatives that advance both short-term business objectives and long-term growth priorities.

What you will do:

Serve as a sales and commercial support specialist for regional sales teams focused on dealer growth within Electric Power, providing commercial coordination and project execution supporting reps, dealers, and customers.
  • Deliver commercial process improvement projects to the regional sales teams to grow sales to user revenue through dealers.
  • Define and manage annual dealer performance metrics and consult with regional sales teams for successful outcomes.
  • Lead annual business planning and target setting for EPD commercial goals.
  • Standardize processes across supply chain, order fulfillment, and invoicing activities.
  • Drive the strategy and governance of EPD workstreams to grow the business towards 2030 goals.

  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.


  • Business Development: Knowledge of business development tools, techniques and approaches; ability to explore and develop potential areas of business growth for the organization.
    Level Working Knowledge:
    • Summarizes the stages of the business development lifecycle.
    • Assists in developing new geographical areas for the organization's products or services.
    • Implements common business development incentive programs.
    • Assists in creating an incentive plan to encourage new business growth and development.
    • Researches approaches for exploring new business opportunities.


Top Candidates Will Also Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business concentration including marketing, business administration, economics, finance, and related fields from an accredited university. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in power generation, energy systems, electrical systems, or related industries.
  • Experience in field, dealer, customer-facing, analytical, and related sales or commercial roles.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, relationship-building, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across regions, cultures, and organizations while aligning diverse stakeholders around common objectives.


Additional Information:
  • This position is located in Irving, TX.
  • Travel up to 10% is required.
  • Domestic relocation assistance is offered for this position.

  • This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
