About the role:Are you a Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, Business Systems Analyst, or Solutions Architect with a background in Payments and instant payment systems? Do you excel in client-facing roles, enjoy unpacking complex problems, and have a natural curiosity for how payment systems operate behind the scenes? If so, this opportunity could be a great fit.
This role will support a broad range of payment solutioning initiatives while playing a key role in helping clients navigate Canada's evolving payments landscape, including Real-Time Rail (RTR) readiness, migration planning, payments modernization, and future-state solution design. We're looking for a solutions-driven professional who combines deep payments and fintech expertise with strong technical fluency, particularly around API-based products and modern payment ecosystems. You know how to translate client needs into secure, scalable payment solutions and thrive in collaborative environments, working seamlessly across sales, product, compliance, architecture, operations, and directly with clients.
About the day-to-day:- Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and design end-to-end payment solutions that align with operational, regulatory, and strategic objectives.
- Architect and document current-state and future-state fund flows, recommending the appropriate payment products and rails (e.g., Real-Time Rail, EFT, Virtual Accounts, Interac e-Transfer, and other payment capabilities) based on client use cases, compliance requirements, and implementation considerations.
- Support Real-Time Rail (RTR) readiness and migration initiatives by assessing existing payment processes, identifying impacts and dependencies, evaluating solution options, and recommending target-state approaches.
- Develop migration strategies and transition roadmaps for clients moving from legacy payment processes and rails to modern payment solutions, including RTR-enabled experiences where appropriate.
- Support sales conversations by uncovering client requirements and clearly articulating payment capabilities, product fit, technical considerations, and implementation approaches.
- Partner closely with Product, Technology, Compliance, and Operations teams to define scalable go-forward payment solutions that support both immediate client needs and future modernization initiatives.
- Troubleshoot integration and transaction issues across APIs and payment networks in sandbox and testing environments, ensuring smooth implementation and onboarding experiences.
- Serve as the primary technical and solutioning point of contact throughout client onboarding, implementation, and migration initiatives, guiding stakeholders from discovery through testing, deployment, and production readiness.
About the qualifications:- 4+ years of experience in a client-facing technical role within Payments, Fintech, Financial Services, or a related industry (e.g., Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, Technical Account Manager, Business Systems Analyst, or Solutions Architect).
- Strong understanding of payment rails and payment ecosystems, including EFT/ACH, wire payments, Interac, real-time payment systems, issuing/acquiring, and API-driven financial platforms.
- Experience participating in payment transformation, modernization, migration, or implementation initiatives is considered a strong asset, including exposure to Real-Time Rail (RTR), faster payments, or related industry programs.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-oriented language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven experience assessing current-state processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and recommending scalable future-state solutions that balance business, operational, and technical requirements.
- Experience creating technical diagrams, workflow and process maps, end-to-end payment flows, and solution architecture documentation using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, or similar platforms.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple stakeholder groups, including Sales, Product, Technology, Compliance, Operations, and client teams.
- Operates with a strong sense of urgency and communicates with clarity, demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation abilities, and a high level of attention to detail.
- Highly self-driven, outcomes-focused, and comfortable taking ownership with minimal oversight.
- Intermediate understanding of APIs and experience supporting troubleshooting in staging or sandbox environments is considered an asset. Experience working with identity and access management tools such as AdminUI; familiarity with APIs is considered an asset.
