Job Description

Position: Sales Manager

Organization: Wyman Gordon Forgings Cleveland

Reports to: General Manager

Essential Functions:
  • Makes sales calls, seeks to develop sales opportunities with new and existing customers to generate new avenues of revenue.
  • Services the needs of existing customer accounts by providing technical assistance for product applications, and resolving customer issues pertaining to quality, delivery, price, order status and other customer needs.
  • Proactively develops and maintains professional business relationships with customer contacts.
  • Identifies new product/process opportunities and develops pricing strategies to secure new business with maximum profit opportunity.
  • Assists in negotiation of contracts regarding price, delivery, specifications, and design to provide plant with maximum profit opportunity.
  • Review all repeat business for desirability and profit opportunity.
  • Review all engineering changes and tool reworks with plant to maximize profit opportunity.
  • Work with estimators and engineering to provide accurate pricing for customers.
  • Provide plant with market information to accurately forecast new and repeat business for short and long range planning including competitive information to develop and/or change current pricing strategies.
  • Ensure continuous new sales growth of $3,000,000 per year.


Requirements - Education/Experience:
  • College degree in engineering, business or equivalent experience preferred, including a working knowledge of forged products and manufacturing processes.
  • Preferred candidate has Aerospace or Commercial Fitting background
  • Incumbent must be enthusiastic, detail oriented, organized, and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management.
  • Good PC skills, including Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Must be a team player.


For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $90,000 to $120,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To comply with those regulations, this position may require applicants to be U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)), or eligible to obtain the required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce.
