This position is located within the Department of the Interior, U.S. Wildland Fire Service, Aviation Operations and Management Division, in Boise, Idaho.
At the full performance level (GS-12) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:- Performs aviation program analysis and project support activities involving planning, tracking, and coordinating assigned analytical projects and program deliverables.
- Collects, validates, analyzes, and interprets aviation program data to support performance reporting, operational awareness, and management decision-making.
- Develops recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, data visualizations, and analytical summaries to communicate program trends, workload indicators, and performance measures.
- Reviews aviation program processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, compliance vulnerabilities, and opportunities for process improvement and standardization.
- Assists with development and implementation of process improvements, internal controls, procedures, templates, and reporting routines supporting consistent program execution.
- Coordinates with managers, analysts, and stakeholders to exchange information, support implementation activities, and ensure timely completion of program objectives and action items.
- Prepares briefings, correspondence, reports, and other written materials communicating analytical findings, recommendations, and program implementation activities.
Telework: The U.S. Wildland Fire Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Salary Range Information (Per Annum):
GS-12: $89,508 (step 1) - $116,362 (step 10) per year.
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.

QualificationsMinimum Qualification Requirements:To qualify for this position, you must meet the qualification requirements described below.
Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-12, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Applicants qualifying based on specialized experience must demonstrate experience in all of the following areas:- Experience collecting, validating, analyzing, and interpreting program or operational data to develop reports, dashboards, or performance metrics used to support management decision-making.
- Experience planning, tracking, and supporting analytical projects or program assignments by monitoring milestones, coordinating deliverables, and identifying issues requiring management attention.
- Experience reviewing organizational processes or workflows to identify inefficiencies, compliance concerns, or opportunities for operational improvement and standardization.
- Experience preparing briefing materials, reports, correspondence, or analytical summaries and coordinating with managers, analysts, or stakeholders to support program operations and implementation activities.
