Job Description

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer shall support the business in areas of product development; process improvement; daily production support; project manage key programs; analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc.), and create shop routings, operations sheets, tools, and other necessary processes and equipment to produce a high-quality product.

The Manufacturing Engineer shall support the business in areas of product development; process improvement; daily production support; project manage key programs; analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc.), and create shop routings, operations sheets, tools, and other necessary processes and equipment to produce a high-quality product.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and write detailed instructions for the manufacture of products.
  • Analyze production data and look for trends indicating potential problems and develop solutions for potential problems.
  • Provide process control systems in the form of instructions, standards, data collection, and feedback loops.
  • Utilize PCC toolbox such as Lean Six Sigma to improve factory performance.

Required Skills:
  • Ability to read documents such as safety rules, operating and manufacturing instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • ERP system knowledge.
  • CAD or 3D modeling system operation knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal uses and formation, sheet metal working, and sheet metal applied technology at an advanced level.
  • Ability to think spatially and creatively at an advanced level.
  • Must have proven experience in performing time studies and setting routing standards.
  • Ability to analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety.
  • Proven high level of creative problem-solving ability.
  • Uses computer software (MS Office): Excel, Word, CAD.
  • Uses Inspection equipment: Calipers, Micrometers.

  • Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills - must be able to write detailed reports, correspondence, and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Experience & Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or related engineering degree.
  • 4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Must have the ability to reason and arrive at conclusions with minimum help and have a basic understanding of statistics.
  • Advanced math skills including statistical analysis and trigonometry required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required CAD software a plus.
  • Must be able to demonstrate teamwork, collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
  • Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations.
  • Working knowledge and application of Lean Six Sigma.
  • Ability to lead and function in a team environment, while effectively communicating across various levels of the organization.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Certification.
  • Sheet Metal Knowledge.
  • Commercial mechanical assembly experience.
  • CNC router experience.
  • Solid Works and AutoCAD computer software experience will be a plus
  • APICS skills (Materials/Production Control)

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $87,500 to $131,300 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
