Job OverviewAs a Sales Engineer, you're the technical force behind our customer-facing motion. You'll partner with Account Executives to win complex enterprise deals, lead deep technical discovery, and demonstrate how Artemis solves real security problems for SOC analysts, security engineers, and CISOs. You'll architect proofs-of-value, navigate procurement and security reviews, and serve as the trusted technical advisor from first call through close.
Responsibilities- Lead technical deep dives, tailored demos, and solution walkthroughs for enterprise security teams
- Run structured technical discovery to understand customer security posture, existing tooling (SIEM, EDR, SOAR, identity), and integration needs
- Design and validate customer-specific solutions that meet technical, security, compliance, and business requirements
- Serve as the primary technical owner in pre-sales, partnering closely with Account Executives on deal strategy
- Answer complex questions around product architecture, detection logic, scalability, data handling, and deployment
- Support pilots, POVs, and technical validation efforts in customer environments
- Address technical objections and advise on best-practice deployment, rollout, and detection tuning strategies
- Lead responses to security questionnaires, RFPs, and vendor risk reviews (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA where relevant)
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security Research, RevOps, and customer teams to unblock deals and share field insights
- Ensure smooth handoffs from pre-sales to post-sales and contribute to pre-sales playbooks, demos, and technical messaging
Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or similar pre-sales technical role in B2B cybersecurityComfortable leading technical conversations with security practitioners, security architects, and CISOs across complex sales cycles
- Strong understanding of modern security architecture: identity, endpoint, network, and cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Strong knowledge of SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, and common log sources (CloudTrail, Okta, endpoint telemetry, etc.)
- Familiarity with detection frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK) and threat modeling
- Comfort with APIs, scripting (Python, Bash), and query languages (KQL, SPL, SQL)
- Able to clearly explain complex technical and security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Trusted, credible, and customer-oriented in high-stakes sales environments
- Comfortable managing multiple deals and stakeholders simultaneously
- Experience supporting enterprise or technically complex security sales motions
- Background in security implementations, technical program management, customer onboarding, or post-sale handoffs a plus
- Relevant certifications (OSCP, GCIA, GCIH, CISSP, cloud security certs) a plus
Nice to have- Prior experience as a software engineer
- Hands-on cybersecurity background - SOC/detection engineering, incident response, offensive security, cloud security, or security engineering
CompensationWe offer a competitive compensation of $250,000-$280,000 per year, and a top-of-market equity component. A variety of factors are considered when determining the compensation, including a candidate's professional experience. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed.
