Job Title: Sales Director - SOCOM

Location: ADS Headquarters (Virginia Beach, VA)

ADS, Inc. is currently seeking a Vertical Sales Manager to lead our sales team supporting the USSOCOM community. This role will be based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Virginia Beach, VA and will require frequent travel (50-75%).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales/business development strategies and programs targeted specifically to the SOCOM community.
  • Establish and grow business relationships with all key decision makers in all branches of service with SOCOM elements.
  • Identify, monitor and provide timely and accurate forecasts of sales opportunities and pipelines.
  • Provide training and mentoring to sales team, overseeing both inside and outside sales force.
  • Setting budgets and responsible for monthly P/L.
  • Appraising and evaluating market conditions within military arena on an ongoing basis and initiating appropriate actions to maintain business momentum and react to competition.


Performance Standards: Your success as a Sales Director will be measured by customer and supplier satisfaction, attitude, work ethic, hitting your assigned direct margin goal, team engagement, and overall sales growth.

Salary Range: $150,000 to $205,000

The salary range represents the base compensation range for this role. The actual compensation will be determined based on a candidate's education, experience, and skills. In addition to base compensation, full-time employees in this role are eligible for commission, which is uncapped, and based on performance.

Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience with US Government contracting and acquisition
  • 2 years' successful experience in business development and/or program management
  • 3+ years' experience in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word must be highly proficient
  • 3+ years' experience in applicable industries
  • Must demonstrate drive and ability to solve problems independently, without prompting
  • Must be hungry to create opportunities and find new business
  • Must possess strong and fearless negotiations skills while still managing relationships with finesse
  • (ADS experience may be substituted for any of the above at the manager's discretion)
  • Extensive travel required (50% or 2 (+/-) weeks of every month)


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience selling to the military or government highly preferred
  • Prior Salesforce or other CRM software experience
  • Understanding of government contracts, defense procurement and relevant purchasing methods desired
  • Experience with military budgets: FAR/DFAR, appropriations/funding, contracts language/law fundamentals
  • 5+ years leadership experience within SOCOM community preferred
  • Bachelors or better preferred, but specific military or government experience may be substituted.
