NOTE:Employees based at our Headquarters are required to work on-site a minimum of two days per week. Specific in-office days may vary by team and business needs. This hybrid schedule supports collaboration, connection, and engagement while also offering flexibility for remote work.
The Role:Responsible for managing the safety team and programs ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and company standards. This role partners with operations leadership to promote a strong safety culture, mitigate risk, and support safe, reliable day-to-day operations.
Day to Day:- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of safety programs, policies, and procedures within the assigned entity or operational area
- Partner with operations leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate safety risks across field and operational environments
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and company safety requirements, including reporting, recordkeeping, and audit support
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking
- Monitor safety performance trends and provide recommendations for improvement to leadership
- Deliver or support safety training and awareness programs to reinforce safe work practices
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, or inquiries as needed
- Contribute to safety-related reporting, documentation, and data analysis
- Supports budget activities, analyzes costs/benefits, and identifies opportunities for cost efficiency within the assigned area
- Translates corporate safety strategy into operational safety plans, team goals, and priorities for the assigned entity or functional area; monitors and evaluates results
- Leads and supports team development, work processes, and technical capability within the safety function
- Demonstrates sound leadership and decision-making; maintains technical expertise and supports ongoing development of team and individual capabilities
Come on your first day with:- Bachelor's Degree in safety or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in natural gas, utility, or construction operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working with regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, state regulators)
- Demonstrated ability to support development and implementation of safety programs
- Ability to perform multiple tasks, manage time effectively, and balance competing priorities
- Ability to work both independently and within a team to achieve departmental goals
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present and facilitate discussions
- Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels with professionalism and discretion
- Proficient computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, and related systems)
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and support projects and initiatives
- Ability to work in a variety of operational environments, including construction settings, confined spaces, and heights as required
- Valid Oregon/Washington driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Professional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, OHST, CHST, CIH) preferred
Physical, Environmental & Scheduling Requirements - Work is performed in a combination of office and field environments, with regular presence in operational and construction settings
- Field work may involve exposure to adverse weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, and uneven terrain
- Role may require exposure to natural gas facilities, hazardous materials, confined spaces, elevated work areas, and heavy equipment operations
- Incumbent must follow all applicable safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and company safety procedures at all times
- Requires the ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, and perform site inspections for extended periods
- May require occasional lifting and moving of materials (generally up to 25-50 pounds) consistent with field observation activities
- Regular travel to field locations and worksites within the assigned service area is required; periodic overnight travel may be necessary
- May be required to support or respond during emergency situations or incidents, including work outside of standard business hours

Base salary range: $123,500.00 - $175,950.00 per year, depending on qualifications
Annual Target Incentive: Manager, 15.0% target
Targets are calculated using eligible earnings during plan year participation. Payout, if earned, is based on company and individual performance for each plan year and may range from 0% - 200% of target. Targets are subject to change in subsequent plan years. Must be employed by September 30 in order to receive any prorated payout.
