Full Job Description
Position Summary

Oversees the royalty and accounts payable operations for the Press and manages all aspects of financial settlement with reviewers, authors, and suppliers. This role administers the end-to-end royalty accounting and reporting process and maintains moderately complex financial and budgetary spreadsheets. Responsibilities include preparing payment documentation and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions. The position supports the budgetary, financial, and administrative functions of NYU Press and assists with data querying, financial forecasting, modeling, variance analysis, and other ad hoc financial reporting and analytical requests.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.

Required Experience:
3+ years Accounts Payable or Finance organization. Experience delivering high standards of customer service and processing a high volume of financial records.

Preferred Experience:
3+ years Royalty accounting, data analysis, or other related field, preferably in book publishing. Experience delivering high standards of customer service and processing a high volume of financial records

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
This position requires exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work with financial systems and maintain databases. This role also requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to interact with authors and vendors professionally.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with other financial applications and publishing industry (i.e. ACUMEN) and accounting applications (i.e. UDW). Ability to supervise, train and assign work to student employees. Familiarity with iBuy.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $77,000.00 to USD $84,700.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
