Overview

About the Role:

LS Power is seeking Analysts to join a formal rotational development program designed for early-career professionals who are interested in building a broad foundation across the energy infrastructure industry. The program will provide hands-on experience across several core areas of LS Power’s business, including Private Equity, Energy Marketing & Trading, and Asset Management of our existing power plants and portfolios, with potential for exposure to other parts of the business as well.

The program is designed to help participants develop a holistic understanding of LS Power’s business, how our teams work together, and where they can contribute most effectively over time. Participants will be based in New York City and will gain exposure to cross-functional work, commercial and analytical decision-making, asset-level strategy, and broader energy infrastructure investment and operations.  Analysts will rotate through three business areas over an 18–month period, with each rotation lasting six months. Following completion of the program, Analysts will be placed into a long-term role in one of the rotational departments based on business needs, demonstrated performance, participant interests, and where they are best positioned to add value across the organization.

Applications will be accepted through October 30, 2026.

Program Structure

The Rotational Analyst Program is expected to include three rotations, with each rotation lasting six months. Participants will rotate across select business areas, which include:

Private Equity Rotation

During the Private Equity rotation, Analysts will gain exposure to how LS Power evaluates, invests in, and supports energy infrastructure businesses and platforms. Analysts may support market research, investment modeling and analysis, due diligence, portfolio company monitoring, and development of materials related to new or existing investment opportunities.

By the end of this rotation, Analysts should develop a better understanding of infrastructure investing, commercial diligence, portfolio strategy, and how investment decisions are evaluated within the broader energy sector.

Energy Marketing & Trading Rotation

During the Energy Marketing & Trading rotation, Analysts will support teams focused on market fundamentals, commercial strategy, and power market opportunities. This will include analyzing supply and demand dynamics, pricing trends, basis risk, market opportunities, and risks impacting LS Power’s portfolio.

By the end of this rotation, Analysts should develop a stronger understanding of wholesale power markets, market drivers, commercial risk, trading strategies and how market insights are translated into actionable strategies.

Asset Management Rotation

During the Asset Management rotation, Analysts will work closely with the Asset Management team to support specific subject matter experts in areas such as operations, environmental, regulatory and public policy to gain exposure to asset-level decision-making, performance tracking, budgeting and cost optimization, commercial analysis, and operational priorities. Analysts should expect to spend time on-site at power plants engaging with plant employee teams and learning how LS Power manages performance, risk, and optimization across its asset base.

By the end of this rotation, Analysts should understand how asset performance, environmental and policy considerations, operational execution, and commercial decision-making come together to support LS Power’s portfolio.
