Position Summary
Tacten is seeking a professional and forward-thinking Rope Access Journeyperson Instrumentation Technicians to support the Marine Loading Arms (MLAs) project at the LNG site,located in Kitimat, BC.

- Start Date: September 7, 2026
- Site/Location: LNG in Kitimat, BC. Relocation is required!
- Shift/Hours: 40 hrs./week and possible overtime
- Hourly Rate $64.50/hr. depending on certifications and experience
- Relocation: We are able to offer up to 3 months of temporary housing to assist with your relocation transition if required.
Responsibilities
- Calibrate and verify accuracy of pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters on cryogenic systems, compressors, and LNG storage tanks to ensure reliable process control.
- Diagnose faults in DCS, PLC, and ESD (Emergency Shutdown) systems, tracing signal issues or sensor failures that could impact process safety or production efficiency.
- Carry out regular inspections and servicing of instruments, analyzers (e.g., gas chromatographs, moisture analyzers), and control valves to minimize downtime and ensure safe operations.
- Participate in commissioning new systems, loop checking, and function testing during plant startups or planned shutdowns, ensuring all instrumentation meets LNG operational standards.
- Maintain accurate calibration records, loop diagrams, and maintenance logs in accordance with site procedures, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements for hazardous environments.
Requirements
- Journeyperson Instrumentation Certification
- IRATA Rope Access certification or a willingness to obtain
- Current safetycertificationsas required in BC
- Located in Kitimat BC or willing to relocate
- Strong knowledge of cryogenic processes, industrial automation, and process control systems.
- Experience with DCS, PLC, and ESD systems (e.g., Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa, Allen-Bradley).
- Proficient in reading P&IDs, loop drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of CSA, API, and ISA standards related to instrumentation and hazardous locations.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and documentation skills.
Additional Skills
- Computer literacy with CMMS systems and digital calibration tools.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and intrinsically safe equipment.
- Understanding of LNG process safety management systems and permit-to-work procedures.
- Experience supporting commissioning and shutdown activities.
- Proficiency/experience in trades/industrial settings
- Familiarity with LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) operations
