The Registered Nurse (RN) functions as an autonomous clinician within an ambulatory specialty practice and serves as a key resource for patient care, allergen immunotherapy services, and clinical operations. Responsibilities include telephone triage, symptom assessment, patient education, care coordination, case management, in-basket support, administration and monitoring of biologic therapies and allergen immunotherapy injections, and emergency response to adverse reactions, including anaphylaxis. The RN also performs patient-specific allergenic extract prescription set preparation, including antigen mixing, dilution, labeling, storage, verification, inventory management, and maintenance of preparation records in accordance with physician orders, organizational policies, regulatory standards, AAAAI/ACAAI practice parameters, FDA guidance, and applicable USP requirements.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining immunotherapy preparation area standards, monitoring storage requirements, supporting quality assurance and regulatory compliance activities, participating in workflow improvement initiatives, providing staff education and competency support, and collecting nursing-sensitive quality indicators. The RN exercises independent nursing judgment consistent with ANA Standards of Practice while collaborating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinic leadership to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
- RN License issued by the State of California.
- BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year of recent ambulatory RN experience.
- Must have phone triage and in-basket/case management experience with ability to manage high volume.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess moderately-complex problems to develop potential solutions for high volume ambulatory practice.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, relational and communication skills.
- Must be able to be flexible in working independent or within a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient service.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- BSN or MSN.
- Allergy, Immunology or Ambulatory Specialty experience.
- Experience administering allergen immunotherapy injections.
- Experience preparing or managing allergenic extract prescription sets.
- Knowledge of AAAAI/ACAAI immunotherapy practice parameters.
- Experience with biologic therapies (Xolair, Dupixent, Tezspire, Nucala, Fasenra, etc.).
- Experience with ambulatory triage, care coordination, and case management.
- Experience with quality improvement and regulatory compliance activities.
- Experience providing patient education in chronic disease management.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS- Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $138,330 - $193,892 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $66.25 - $92.86
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
