About Emergency Room Nursing

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides timely, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies.

The ER RN performs comprehensive assessments, identifies changes in patient condition, prioritizes care based on patient acuity, implements appropriate interventions, evaluates patient responses, and collaborates closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Emergency nursing provides new graduate RNs with the opportunity to develop a broad clinical foundation while caring for patients across a wide range of ages, diagnoses, and acuity levels.

As an Emergency Room RN, you will develop skills in:
  • Rapid and comprehensive patient assessment
