Full Job Description
Under the direction of the Nursing Director, the RNManager Med Surg has the direct-line responsibility for day-to-day operations and overall responsibility for the nursing department, ensuring that employees have effective management, good communication and appropriate discipline. The Nurse Manager ensures that the charge nurse fulfills their responsibilities as front-line supervisors. The Nurse Manager is responsible on a 24-hour basis for the coordination of patient care, administrative and nursing activities. The Nurse Manager is responsible on a 24-hour basis for the quality of nursing care provided to our patients'. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of all nursing care and related activities. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of: clinical nursing practice, staff recruitment, retention, labor relations, supply chain and budget, staffing, employee performance evaluation, quality improvement, staff education, medical records, internal and external regulatory and survey requirements.

What qualifications you will need:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:
• Current unencumbered South Carolina or Multistate Compact Registered Nurse License or Compact State RN License required
• Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS)- American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 30 days of hire required
• ACLS certification within 90 days from transfer or hire required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification must be complete within 90 days of hire required
• National certification in specialty preferred

B. Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN is preferred.

C. Experience: 3+ years of Med/Surg experience is required with 1+ years of leadership preferred.
