Full Job Description
As a Hedge Funds Credit Risk Vice President on the Commercial and Investment Bank (CIB) Credit Risk Management team, you will manage exposure to North American based hedge funds and other alternative managers engaging across the spectrum of investment strategies. You will have responsibility for assessing the risk of a portfolio of hedge funds and determining credit risk appetite for client lending, trading, clearing, prime brokerage and custody activity. You will serve as the Credit Officer and primary coverage for those credit relationships. Job Responsibilities • Perform customer due diligence and financial analysis and summarize in written credit approval memos and reviews • Review and approve trading activity, including recommending margin requirements as well as structural enhancements • Set and communicate credit exposure appetite across trading products utilizing internal exposure methodologies • Oversee legal negotiations for traded products • Serve as principal contact for and partner with colleagues from Sales & Trading, Prime Brokerage, Investor Client Management, Treasury & Security Services, Legal, Investment Banking Coverage, Syndicated & Leveraged Finance, Debt Capital Markets and Ratings Advisory • Assess creditworthiness of clients and assign appropriate credit ratings • Maintain updated credit research on a portfolio of clients • Demonstrate ability to mentor and guide junior resources • Participate in the ongoing coaching, training, development and delegation of work for junior staff to ensure deliverables and deadlines are met • Lead group wide efficiency projects Required qualifications, capabilities and skills • Bachelor's degree • Minimum 7 years' of professional work experience within financial services • Credit/Market risk experience required • Knowledge of Hedge Fund and or Asset Manager Industry • Strong understanding of financial products and market dynamics • Strong accounting and corporate finance skills • Strong interest in client interaction and possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills • Ability to perform well under pressure in a demanding environment • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
