Summary:
The position involves hands-on work in RF design, testing, integration, troubleshooting, and optimization of systems including power amplifiers, block upconverters (BUCs), waveguide assemblies, and filtering solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet technical, manufacturing, and customer requirements.
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to the development, testing, and production of RF communication products including BUCs (Block Upconverters) and SSPAs (Solid-State Power Amplifiers)
- Support the design and optimization of RF circuits and high-frequency assemblies
- Assist in RF power amplifier design, PCB layout reviews, and manufacturing integration activities
- Translate technical requirements into practical design concepts and prototypes
- Participate in the full product development lifecycle from design through validation and production release
- Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure successful implementation of designs
- Troubleshoot and resolve RF performance, integration, and production-related issues
- Conduct RF testing, tuning, characterization, and system validation activities
- Prepare technical documentation, validation reports, and design input for product development activities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product reliability, manufacturability, and performance
- Ensure solutions comply with technical specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 5-8 years of experience in RF design and development
- Strong understanding of RF and microwave components including power amplifiers, synthesizers, and frequency conversion systems
- Solid knowledge of electromagnetic (EM) theory and high-frequency circuit behavior
- Experience designing or working with circuits operating above 10 GHz
- Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools
- Hands-on experience with RF circuit integration, debugging, and troubleshooting
- Experience performing RF testing and validation using laboratory test equipment
- Familiarity with waveguide technology, analog circuits, and digital electronics
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles
- Knowledge of RF production processes and assembly considerations
- Experience with tools such as ADS, EMPro, HFSS, Altium, and WaspNET
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies and SolidWorks is considered an asset
