Full Job Description
Vitesse Systems is looking for an RF Fellow to join the Longmont team! The RF Fellow will lead the development of cutting-edge RF payloads and communication systems, tackling complex challenges across aerospace, defense, telecommunications, and space applications.

The Role

The RF Fellow is a recognized technical expert responsible for advancing the design, development, integration, and evaluation of next-generation RF payloads and communication technologies. This role provides technical leadership in the development of innovative RF systems and products for satellites, aerospace, defense, telecommunications, and other advanced technology applications while collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

The Fellow serves as a trusted technical advisor and subject matter expert, driving technology innovation, influencing product and technology roadmaps, solving complex technical challenges, and mentoring engineering talent to advance the organization's technical capabilities and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the organization's technical authority for RF payloads and related technologies.
  • Provide technical leadership in the design, development, integration, and evaluation of RF payloads, products, and communication systems.
  • Develop product and technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives and future market needs.
  • Lead technical trade studies, architecture evaluations, and engineering analyses to support product and technology development.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to improve product performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost competitiveness.
  • Support business development activities by providing technical expertise for customer engagements, proposals, and solution development.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and provide guidance throughout the product lifecycle, from concept through production and sustainment.
  • Lead or participate in technical reviews, design reviews, independent assessments, and root cause investigations.
  • Provide technical oversight for engineering projects, ensuring sound engineering practices and appropriate risk management.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with customers, suppliers, industry partners, universities, and research organizations.
  • Mentor engineers and technical staff by sharing knowledge, developing technical capabilities, and promoting excellence in engineering.
  • Contribute to the organization's intellectual property portfolio through innovation, patents, publications, and technical presentations.
  • Represent the organization as a technical expert at customer meetings, industry conferences, and professional organizations.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Microwave Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field. Ph.D. preferred.
  • Extensive experience in RF engineering, communications systems, payload development, or related technologies.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and recognized expertise in RF systems or related engineering disciplines.
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives across multiple programs or product lines.
  • Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances or customer-specific access requirements, as applicable.
  • Proof of US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is required to comply with ITAR regulations.
