Your Opportunity

Operational Services, within Plan Administration & Implementation (PAI), supports Retirement Plan Services by delivering high-quality client service for the recordkeeping functions of Defined Contribution retirement plans. A Manager within PAI manages relationships with plan sponsors and internal business partners while ensuring compliance with applicable ERISA requirements. This role delivers high-quality work, supports departmental goals, and demonstrates the ownership, judgment, communication, and client-first mindset needed to contribute with independence and influence.

 

What You’ll Do

The Loan Consulting Manager serves as a subject matter expert in IRC 72(p), independently managing complex tasks, competing deadlines, and escalated issues with sound judgment, urgency, and attention to detail. Key responsibilities include consulting with plan sponsors to resolve loan delinquencies, developing actionable plans, responding clearly to transactional inquiries, and guiding internal partners, participants, and plan sponsors through outcomes and next steps. This role also supports departmental initiatives, process improvements, and system implementations while using quality tools to document errors, identify root causes, and prevent repeat issues. Success requires flexibility, initiative, accountability, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Must have 5+ years of qualified retirement plan administration experience; ASPPA designation preferred.
  • Experience with loan corrections and coordination with payroll providers or internal HRIS systems to maintain IRC 72(p) compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confidence presenting to clients and internal partners.
  • Ability to independently resolve complex issues while managing cross-functional relationships.
  • Experience supporting plan conversions by analyzing prior recordkeeper files, identifying loan issues, recommending solutions, and partnering with key stakeholders for prompt resolution.
  • Ability to manage complex work accurately and efficiently, prioritize competing assignments, meet deadlines and quality expectations, and maintain strong attention to detail.

  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Ability to coach and mentor peers, influence through constructive dialogue, support team training, and foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment.
  • Proven ability to analyze trends, identify root causes, and implement practical process improvements that enhance the client experience.
  • Sound escalation judgment, including knowing when to engage additional resources to support timely resolution.
  • Client-focused relationship builder who influences effectively and develops trusted partnerships with plan sponsors and business partners.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
