Full Job Description
We are seeking a Retail Architecture, Project Manager to join our team in the Alameda office or New York office. This role focuses on guiding project teams through an entire architecture project, inclusive of the development and adherence to project scope, budget, schedule, and work plan.

What You'll Do
  • Lead, mentor, and support junior staff to ensure project success, professional growth, and a collaborative team environment.
  • Assign tasks based on project scope and team strengths while providing technical guidance and creative solutions to complex design and construction challenges.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders, consultants, and permitting officials across all project phases.
  • Manage deliverables, budgets, and documentation coordination with structural, MEP, civil, and other consultants while overseeing quality control of construction drawings.
  • Direct and lead project meetings (internal, external, and with permitting officials), guiding responses to plan check comments and project changes.
  • Provide construction administration, including site visits, submittals, RFIs, substitution requests, and coordination with contractors.
  • Forecast and manage staffing, revenue, and resource needs while assisting with billing, invoicing, collections, and identifying additional client services when needed.
  • Report weekly project status to the Studio Director and contribute to proposals, contracts, performance reviews, and candidate interviews.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent experience; Licensed Architect or actively pursuing licensure and LEED accreditation is a plus
  • Experience managing retail projects from initial concept to build out with adaptability across diverse brands, fast-paced environments, and multi-office operations
  • Advanced knowledge of building systems, materials, construction methods, codes, and accessibility requirements
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining clear, professional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Leadership and team-building abilities with a commitment to mentoring junior staff and fostering collaboration
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Experience with:
  • Retail design, including prototype implementation, custom detailing, and space planning
  • Building client relationships, pursuing new opportunities, and negotiating additional services while managing project accounting and billing processes
  • Coordinating with clients, consultants, building officials, and contractors to manage scope, schedules, and correspondence across all project phases
  • Improving production methods and efficiencies while delivering quality projects on time and within budget
  • Forecasting staffing and resource needs to meet project plans, budgets, and utilization targets
  • Revit, Bluebeam, SketchUp, Photoshop
