Respiratory Therapist (RT) to its clinical team. RESPONSIBILITIES:- Assess residents with pulmonary diseases, respiratory disorders, and related complications
- Perform and interpret respiratory assessments, diagnostic testing, and pulmonary function evaluations
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Administer respiratory treatments, aerosol medications, inhalants, and chest physiotherapy
- Monitor resident response to treatment and adjust care recommendations as appropriate
- Operate and monitor ventilators, tracheostomy equipment, oxygen therapy devices, and other respiratory care equipment
- Provide resident and family education regarding respiratory treatments and equipment use
- Assist with discharge planning and coordination of respiratory equipment needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and clinical records
- Serve as a respiratory care resource and educator for facility staff
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:- Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License required
- Ventilator and tracheostomy experience required
- Long-term care experience preferred
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain accurate documentation
- Physical ability to perform frequent standing, walking, and resident care activities, including lifting up to 20 pounds
