Overview

Bio-Rad's Clinical Immunology Diagnostics Group is a multidisciplinary team developing products using our BioPlex 2200 Multiplexing Platform. The BioPlex 2200 System is a fully automated, random access multiplex testing platform that combines automation with the diagnostic power of proprietary multiplex chemistry and state-of-the-art eFlex software to bring a new level of flexibility and operational benefits to the laboratory. We are seeking an energetic and talented Research Associate II to join our assay development team.

How You’ll Make An Impact: 

  • Work under the supervision of a project leader and in collaboration with other R&D scientists on the development of new clinical diagnostic products for the BioPlex 2200 instrumentation platform. 
  • Follow established protocols for assay reagent formulation, characterization and development. 
  • Handling of clinical human samples including aliquotting, labelling, and testing. 
  • Execute assay performance verification studies on the BioPlex 2200 instrument. 
  • Work effectively with team members to achieve project goals and deliverables. 
  • Document experimental results under direction of the project leader. 
  • Support daily laboratory operations, as well as assist with material and equipment logistics. 

What You Bring: 

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in a biological sciences or related field. 
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 3 year experience in biochemistry and molecular or cellular biology research, preferably in an industrial environment. 
  • Experience working with standard biochemical techniques including assay development, multiplex assays, ELISA, and use of laboratory instrumentation required. 
  • Strong organizational skills, communication, and multitasking skills are essential. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and statistical software packages.

Location: This position must be based in Hercules, CA and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,310 to $95,400 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
