Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities
  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Research & Analytics Developer in New York, NY (multiple positions available):

  • Design, develop, and implement high-performance platforms and systems to enable advanced research and analytics capabilities.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize custom analytics tools, monitoring, alerting tools, dashboards, and frameworks to support data-driven decision-making and manage potential risks.
  • Support the seamless integration of quantitative models into trading systems, ensuring reliability and scalability across global markets.
  • Build and maintain scalable, efficient data pipelines for ingestion, storage, processing, visualization of complex datasets and introduce groundbreaking solutions
  • Work closely with researchers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate analytical requirements into actionable development tasks and technical solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Enhance the speed, reliability, and scalability of existing platforms and analytics systems through continuous performance tuning and re-engineering.
  • Design and implement cloud-native solutions to leverage distributed computing and storage capabilities effectively.
  • Produce thorough documentation of system architectures, code, models, workflows, development processes and adhere to software development best practices and version control while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $189,592 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $195,000 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
