This Opportunity

WSP is currently seeking a Renewables Power Delivery Project Manager to join the Power & Energy Renewables Project Management department. The position is posted in Denver, CO, but remote work is allowed from any location in the US (please note desired location in the application).

The position will manage various types of renewables projects with a focus on utility scale wind, solar, storage, and a combination of those. DER, microgrids, EVs, and other similar grid-edge type projects will be a secondary focus. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in renewables work, including High-Voltage Interconnects, and a desire to be a key team member dedicated to growing WSP's Renewables Project Portfolio.

Your Impact
  • The successful candidate will manage the technical and financial aspects of Renewables (wind, solar, and BESS) projects, establish and grow client relationships, and market WSP's Renewables services to existing and new clients throughout the US.
  • The successful candidate will have a technical background in grid-scale renewables projects and will take an active role in coordinating with internal engineering teams needed to execute project work.
  • Promote company culture and manage internal and external relationships
  • Lead the project planning process including initiation, design, engineering, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout
  • Manage project implementation including project schedule, project budget, and the project resources including external vendors and contractors
  • Collaborate with and provide leadership and mentoring to the project design teams
  • Stay technically engaged in aspects of projects that align with candidate's experience and interest
  • Identify key clients and take a lead role in sales and developing those client relationships
  • This position will include travel to meet with clients throughout the US and occasionally internationally
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills should include CPM scheduling, budget and cost analysis, managing project teams, as well as proposal writing, client marketing/sales, and project presentations
  • Responsible for metrics tracking, associated reporting to stakeholders, and compliance with regulatory, corporate, and department procedures during all phases of the project
  • Collaborate with professionals and leadership from a variety of disciplines to provide "trusted advisor" service and future ready solutions for clients.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm or 15+ years of relevant post education experience in a project management role within our industry.
  • 5 + years of applicable industry experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager in the electric utility or renewables market
  • Advanced experience includes small- to medium-scale project management, and/or project lead engineering experience on large/complex projects
  • Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools required
  • General understanding of both medium- and high-voltage portions of renewables projects
  • Experience in winning and executing competitive bid work
  • Client relationship building experience
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 8 + years of experience leading projects as a Project Engineer or Project Manager in the medium or high voltage electrical industry
  • Solar, wind, and/or storage focused project management and client development experience
  • Familiarity with renewables developers or EPC contractors
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
  • Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Essential project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAP-M).

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $168,900 - $320,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $149,200- $282,000
