Remote Risk Management Project Manager to support the
VA ESOM contract. Kentro is seeking a Project Manager to lead the disaster recovery exercise team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs ESOM program. The project manager will direct the team's schedule, priorities, delivery commitments, risks, and stakeholder coordination. This role will also serve as Scrum Master by facilitating team ceremonies, maintaining the work backlog, removing delivery impediments, and supporting continuous improvement. The project manager is accountable for the quality and timely delivery of exercise plans, tabletop sessions, reports, and corrective action tracking.
Location: Remote - This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours.
Compensation Range: The pay range for this position is $155-$170K annually. Kentro determines compensation by evaluating current government contracting and commercial market conditions, as well as the role's specific requirements. Final salary placement within this range will be based on the candidate's relevant skills, experience, education, certifications, location, and security clearance level, where applicable.

Responsibilities- Lead the multidisciplinary team of cyber engineering, operational resilience, risk analysis, and technical writing personnel.
- Develop and maintain the integrated schedule for application assessments, tabletop exercises, reports, and follow-up validation.
- Set delivery priorities with program leadership and application stakeholders based on application criticality, risk, and available resources.
- Define work packages, owners, milestones, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and reporting requirements.
- Serve as Scrum Master by facilitating planning, daily coordination, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Maintain the team backlog and make work status, blockers, risks, and dependencies visible to stakeholders.
- Remove delivery impediments and coordinate decisions that require program, technical, or customer leadership.
- Ensure exercises follow approved objectives, methods, documentation standards, and quality reviews.
- Review exercise plans, after-action reports, improvement plans, dashboards, and leadership briefings before delivery.
- Track program risks, corrective actions, performance measures, staffing, and stakeholder commitments.
- Facilitate communication among the team, application owners, technical organizations, security personnel, vendors, and leadership.
- Promote practical process improvements based on retrospectives, exercise results, and stakeholder feedback.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in project management, information systems, business administration, engineering, or another relevant discipline.
- 10 years of relevant experience.
- 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary technology, cybersecurity, resilience, or disaster recovery teams.
- Experience managing schedules, risks, dependencies, deliverables, quality reviews, and executive reporting.
- Experience serving as a Scrum Master or leading work through an Agile delivery framework.
- Ability to facilitate technical and leadership meetings, resolve delivery impediments, and maintain stakeholder alignment.
- Strong leadership, organization, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Project Management Professional, Certified ScrumMaster, Professional Scrum Master, or comparable certification.
- Experience managing disaster recovery, operational resilience, business continuity, or cybersecurity exercise programs.
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-34, NIST SP 800-84, NIST SP 800-53, and federal IT governance practices.
- Experience with Agile planning, collaboration, reporting, and service management tools.
- Background supporting large federal, DoD, or public-sector IT environments.
