Job Summary:

onsemi is seeking a self-driven and motivated professional to join our Reliability team. As a Staff Reliability engineer, you will have the opportunity of leading the Reliability Hardware Design, HTOL/THB/HAST BI validation, qualifications of new products and advanced technologies, participating in a broad range of reliability activities in a highly dynamic working environment. You will be part of multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative products at a high-quality level.

Performance Objectives
  • The engineer is coordinating with Design and PE to be responsible for Reliability Hardware Design, HTOL/THB/bHAST BI Vector Validation, and lead the external Rel lab Qual execution.
  • For NPD projects, the engineer is to work with Design, Technology, PI, PE, TE, and PKG to develop, to document and to execute the reliability strategy & Qual plan and qualification execution. Participate weekly NPD meetings with cross functional teams.
  • For building-in reliability & quality into NPD products, the reliability engineer gets involved in technology & package development, design of experiments (DOE), material and process characterization & validation & reliability evaluation & process and product qualifications... Results from these DOEs & process characterization & reliability evaluation will be employed to improve the quality and reliability of products.
  • In case of failures happening during Qual stress tests, the engineer needs to perform 1st level reject disposition teamwork with Product Engineers for FA and root cause analysis and request corrective or preventive actions if applicable.
  • Work closely with PE and TE to review the NPD test program development to ensure Test Quality in NPD process & release
  • Participate in Product Validation Process and provide engineering inputs to improve NPD Quality & Reliability
  • Lead the Qualification Readiness Check in the cross-functional areas
  • Be responsible for working with PE on drift analysis of the Qualification tests, and electrical data analysis of the qualification rejects
  • The job requires the engineer to participate in assessment of Qual Material Readiness and Test program readiness required to release qualification materials into qualification process. The engineer should write clear and complete Qual readiness reports and risk assessments, and reliability qualification reports.
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills to support both internal and external customers.
  • Operate effectively in a team environment while contributing to the team's success

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline; M.S. degree or Ph.D. in electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of Semiconductor Reliability Hardware Design, Rel Engineering or Product Engineering experience required
  • Experienced in hardware design, external reliability lab management, and Product Qualification flow/tests;
  • Basic lab skills with assorted test/measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, power supply, source meter, function generator, network analyzer, etc.)
  • Familiar with industrial standards (AEC Q100, JEDEC, IPC) for Qualification & PCN process.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with CMOS Device & Circuit Reliability, and familiar with reliability statistics & models and reliability stress methodologies
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with CMOS package, assembly process, semiconductor package failure modes;
  • Provide engineering inputs to NPD cross functional teams to ensure reliable and robust products.
  • Responsible for the successful completion of reliability deliverables in the company's Product Development Process
  • Experience with Product or Test Engineering, familiar with drift analysis of Qualification samples
  • Effective engineering analytical and problem-solving skills; familiar with FA & RCCA flows
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; Effective meeting and presentation skills.


onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $131,100.00 to $222, 755.00. Range is exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
