Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Release Engineer to manage, coordinate, and automate software release processes across development, testing, and production environments. The ideal candidate will ensure reliable, secure, and efficient software deployments while collaborating with development, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, and product teams. This role focuses on release planning, CI/CD pipeline management, version control, deployment automation, and continuous improvement of the software delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute software releases across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate application build, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Manage release schedules, deployment calendars, and version control strategies.
  • Collaborate with software developers, QA engineers, DevOps, SRE, and product teams to ensure successful releases.
  • Automate deployment workflows using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools where applicable.
  • Monitor release health, troubleshoot deployment issues, and coordinate rollback procedures when necessary.
  • Ensure release documentation, change logs, release notes, and deployment procedures are accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain artifact repositories and manage software versioning.
  • Support configuration management and environment consistency across multiple deployment stages.
  • Participate in post-release reviews and implement process improvements to enhance release reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational change management, security, and governance policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management processes.

  • Proficiency with Git and branching strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based development, or similar).
  • Experience with Linux and scripting using Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerized application deployments.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation.
