The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked No. 1 hospital in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and tied for No. 1 hospital in Texas by U.S. News and World Report ([redacted]), is seeking a full-time, board certified/eligible, highly skilled and experienced Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist to join our expanding Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Rehabilitation Neuropsychology program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for advancing neurorehabilitation care and enhancing patient outcomes while contributing to the educational development of future healthcare professionals.

The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, chaired by Dr. Heakyung Kim, provides services at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Clements University Hospital, and their affiliated outpatient clinics. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work with residents, fellows, and medical students in one of the largest PM&R training programs in the U.S.

Role Responsibilities and Duties: Clinically, the ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing and addressing the psychological needs of individuals dealing with disabilities or chronic health conditions. They will help clients cope with the emotional and cognitive challenges that arise from their conditions and guide them in developing effective coping strategies. This role involves creating and implementing personalized rehabilitation plans tailored to each client's unique needs and abilities. The psychologist will also work in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care and promote the client's maximum independence. The candidate must demonstrate empathy, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to support clients in achieving both emotional well-being and functional independence.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a doctorate (PsyD or PhD) in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university. Rehabilitation Psychology expertise is preferred to support the specialized needs of this role. In addition, the selected candidate must obtain a Texas Psychology License, must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Professional Psychology in Rehabilitation Psychology and/or Neuropsychology. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
