Unit Highlights

Join the nursing team on MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's Adult Medical Intermediate Care Unit (2North)! We emphasize teamwork, enjoy a fun work environment, and prioritize professional growth.

2 North is an 18-bed adult Medical Intermediate Care Unit with private rooms, which are outfitted with the latest GE beside physiological equipment to monitor continuous cardiac and pulse oximetry. The team utilizes innovative best-practice processes to provide expert care for acutely ill patients with diverse medical diagnoses. Other diagnoses on the unit include but are not limited to end-stage renal disease, liver failure, chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, sepsis, CHF, COPD, and GI bleeds.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs-from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.
