Responsibilities Position SummaryThe Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. This role involves pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure support, and post-procedure recovery care. The RN collaborates with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced procedural setting.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct pre-procedure assessments and patient education.
- Administer medications and moderate sedation per protocol.
- Monitor patient condition throughout procedures, responding promptly to changes.
- Provide recovery and discharge teaching to patients and families.
- Collaborate with physicians and team members to optimize workflow and patient safety.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and safety standards and hospital policies.
Qualifications Required:
- Current RN license (DC or compact, must have by start date)
- Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience
- BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
Preferred:
- Endoscopy or procedural RN experience
- BSN or higher degree in nursing
- Specialty certification (CGRN or equivalent)
