Pay Range:
$38.20 - $57.30

Where You Will Work:

The Dickson Heart Intensive Care Unit (DHICU) at Carolinas Medical Center is a 20-bed, high-acuity cardiac ICU specializing in the management of patients requiring advanced cardiovascular care and invasive hemodynamic monitoring. This fast-paced, highly specialized unit treats patients with complex conditions including ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), acute decompensated heart failure, end-stage heart failure, and cardiogenic shock, many of these patients require advanced therapies such as LVAD or heart transplantation.

Registered nurses in DHICU are experts in the management of critically ill cardiac patients and are trained in the care of advanced mechanical circulatory support devices. These include intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), Impella, and durable LVAD/RVAD systems.

The unit fosters a collaborative, high-performance environment focused on delivering evidence-based care, ensuring patient safety, and supporting optimal clinical outcomes for a complex cardiovascular population.

We're Looking For:
• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Candidates must have at least 6 months of RN experience, this position is not for new graduates.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS Required within 6 months of hire
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience preferred

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
