Where You Will Work: 10NT Burns and Plastics is a 24 bed multi-leveled unit. The unit is commonly called the Burn Center as it is an all-inclusive comprehensive unit for all levels of burn patients including pediatrics and adults. The unit is divided into 16 Med-surg level beds and 8 ICU level beds. In addition to burn patients, the unit sees a variety of other surgical patients such as Plastic Surgery, Orthopedics, Trauma, and Urology. Being 1 of 2 Burn Centers in the state of North Carolina, the Burn Center is recognized by the American Burn Association (ABA), as a verified burn center, meaning we offer state of art care, training, and have the resources to treat all levels of burns. In the Burn Center, you will learn different types of wound care, including dressing, skin grafting and maintenance, negative pressure wound vac applications, and other wound care processes.
Expectations We're Looking For: - Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS are required within 6 months of hire
- 1 year of Med/Surg experience preferred
What You'll Do: • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
