Job Description

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) years experience in an outpatient setting and/or emergency room as a registered nurse. Or combined experience in both settings.
• Minimum of one (1) year recent experience as a registered nurse in an ambulatory practice or ER within the past 3 years.
• Minimum of one (1) year registered nurse experience working with both adult and pediatric patient populations.
• Triage experience as a registered nurse
• This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Nursing Degree from an accredited nursing school and/or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an outpatient Primary Care setting
• Ability to work competently and efficiently with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & Work
• Pediatric phlebotomy experience

Licensure/Certifications:

• Registered Nurse as defined by California Board of Registered Nursing
• Current CA Nursing license
• Current American Heart Association CPR Certification.

Salary Information

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
