UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and compassionate Oncology Nurse to join our new Oncology unit.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:

4A is an oncology unit serving hematology-oncology and medical-oncology patients. Common diagnoses include lymphoma, sarcoma, and a variety of solid-tumor cancers. This unit specializes in chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, management of treatment-related side effects, end-of-life care, and care of cancer-related complications such as pain, immunosuppression, electrolyte imbalances, and organ dysfunction. Specialized equipment includes chemotherapy administration supplies and a carbon-filtered chemotherapy spill PAPR. This unit is also a resource for central venous access device care and maintenance.

WORK SCHEDULE:
  • 36 hours per week (12-hour shifts)
  • Variable Day/Night rotations


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Screen patients for Oncology treatment
  • Place IVs, and initiate, assess and observe patients during infusions
  • Provide procedural support
  • Document all activities in the Electronic Medical Record
  • Provide care management education for patients and their families


REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • One year of current or recent Oncology nursing experience
  • ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
  • Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
  • Active BLS Certification


Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:
$45.59 hourly
Pay Range Maximum:
$83.64 hourly
Other Compensation:
BSN (or higher degree) Premium - $1.00/hour ; Certification (Specialty Certs) Premium - $1.25/hourNight Shift Premium - $5.00/hourEvening Shift Premium - $3.00/hourWeekend Shift Premium - $4.00/hour; Sunday Night Premium - $3.00/hourOvertime Pay$5000 Relocation Assistance (for eligible new employees)
