Registered Nurse (RN) - Neuro Unit

Deaconess Illinois Medical Center | Dayshift
Compensation: $31.25 - $46.88/hour

As a Neuro RN, you'll care for patients with a variety of neurological conditions and play a vital role in helping them recover, regain independence, and improve their quality of life.
What You'll Do

As a Registered Nurse on our Neuro Unit, you will provide specialized, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing neurological disorders, injuries, and post-surgical recovery.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for patients with neurological conditions
  • Monitor and recognize changes in neurological status, responding appropriately to patient needs
  • Care for patients with conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological disorders
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to established clinical protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, recovery expectations, and ongoing care needs
  • Provide compassionate support to patients and loved ones navigating complex healthcare situations
  • Maintain accurate documentation and promote quality, safety, and evidence-based nursing practices
