This position reports to:
Regional Technical Advisor Manager

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work of medium to high complexity as per work instructions and ABB guidelines. Each day, you will deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. You will also showcase your expertise by working with customer to identify opportunities in the installed base, to improve system performance and operational performance.

In this role, you will support our Automation Energy Industries Service business across the United States.

Your role and responsibilities

• Executing medium- to high-complexity service activities and providing lifecycle support for ABB DCS systems in line with customer scope, ABB processes, and site safety requirements.
• Driving customer satisfaction and retention through high-quality technical execution, clear communication of service scope, timelines, risks, and resolution plans, and consistent delivery against customer expectations.
• Identifying service growth opportunities across the installed base by assessing system performance, lifecycle status, reliability risks, and modernization needs in close coordination with customers and internal ABB teams.
• Elevating the technical capability of the field service organization by mentoring Field Service Engineers, coaching technicians and engineers, leading complex site activities, maintaining current knowledge of new technologies, and providing advanced technical support across ABB teams.

Qualifications for the role

• You are highly skilled in industrial automation, operating systems, industrial software, hardware, computers, and process equipment, and you enjoy working in the energy, utilities, and industrial automation sectors.
• You have a minimum of 8+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, with a strong foundation in electrical knowledge, programming, and troubleshooting, including work with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), SCADA, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
• You are passionate about traveling more than 80% of the time across the United States, with occasional international travel, and working directly with customers at their facilities.
• You are comfortable performing physical tasks such as lifting equipment, replacing power supplies, and conducting on-site troubleshooting and repairs.
• You are at ease communicating in English.
• You hold a current work permit to work in the United States of America.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $100,500 and $160,800 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
