Overview

The Regional Director provides strategic and operational oversight for Medical Staff Services across all facilities within the designated region. This role ensures accurate credentialing, physician privileging, and medical staff governance. The Director collaborates with the Regional CMO, hospital executives, and medical staff leadership to maintain compliance with applicable standards such as DNV, Joint Commission, ACHC, CMS, state regulations, and facility bylaws.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.
  • Certification from the National Association of Medical Staff Services as Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM), required within 6 months of employment or demonstrate equivalency through work experience in medical staff services of at least 10 years.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS), or equivalent, preferred.
  • Minimum of five to seven years of progressive hospital credentialing and medical staff management experience.  Multi-facility or regional experience is highly desired.  Experience in working with governance processes is essential.
  • Must have strong computer, communication and writing skills with knowledge of medical terminology.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $124,800.00 to $161,886.40 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
