Role Description

Lead Field Medical Strategy in Rare Disease.

Lead and inspire a team of Medical Science Liaisons while driving field medical excellence across LEO Pharma's rare disease portfolio.

Your Role:

As Regional Director, Field Medical, you will lead a team of Medical Science Liaisons to successfully execute field medical objectives and inform overall strategy specific to LEO rare disease assets. This is a field-based role requiring extensive travel(up to 70%) -ideal candidates should live within45 minutes of a major US airport.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Clearly communicate expectations for Field Medical strategy and tactical execution of the rare portfolio initiatives.

  • Coach, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of Medical Science Liaisons, providing ongoing feedback, training, and career development support.

  • Drive accountability, performance excellence, and succession planning across the Field Medical organization.

  • Identify training, resource, and field support needs to enhance team effectiveness and execution.

  • Propose and implement engagement methods, initiatives, and best practices to achieve FM strategic objectives.

  • Monitor landscape and assess Field Medical strategy and initiatives for gaps & opportunities offering strategic advantage.

  • Recognize and reward outstanding performance.

  • Monitor interim & final progress on initiatives, and report on the same.

  • Motivate and inspire your direct reports, including change leadership through adaptability, agility and informed optimism.

  • Coordinate and oversee any MSL participation in Sales training specific to LEO rare disease assets.

  • Develop and revise field medical policies and guidance.


Your Qualifications:

  • PharmD, Ph.D., MD, DO preferred. Science-based master degree and 7+ years of Field Medical experience required.

  • 7+ years in pharmaceutical industry, Dermatology or Immunology preferred.

  • 5+ years field medical experience, MSL or similar customer-facing role.

  • Expertise in the field medical environment: customer focus, compelling communication, collaboration, lead with demonstrated knowledge of the pharmaceutical climate, applicable laws, regulations & standards.

  • Field leadership fundamentals required - Ability to earn trust and develop consensus, demonstrate resilience in evolving conditions, persuade for alignment and action, build effective teams, value the strength of differences, drive individual & team accountability to succeed and develop the skills and capabilities of others.

  • Experience in developing field resources & training, along with strong business insight.

  • Ability and willingness to travel ~75% of the time and ideally living within 45 minutes of a major US airport.

Your New Team:

In this role, you will partner closely with the Field Medical Leadership Team, Global Medical Affairs, US Sales, US Marketing, and Legal & Compliance to drive Field Medical strategy and execution across the rare disease portfolio.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $240,000-275,000 per year. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the LEO Pharma range for this position. Salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
