Job SummaryWe are seeking a Redis Platform Engineer to support and maintain enterprise caching and data platform services across virtual machine and Kubernetes environments. This role will focus on the deployment, administration, monitoring, automation, and operational support of Redis-based caching solutions and related platform technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong Linux systems background, practical Kubernetes experience, exposure to Redis or similar caching technologies, and a production support mindset focused on reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Support the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and administration of Redis and caching services across virtual machine and Kubernetes environments.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Redis instances and related caching platform components.
- Deploy and manage workloads within Kubernetes environments using Helm charts and Kubernetes-native deployment practices.
- Monitor platform health, system performance, cache utilization, and application responsiveness.
- Respond to alerts, investigate incidents, and participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities.
- Execute operational procedures for platform upgrades, patching, maintenance, and system lifecycle management.
- Contribute to infrastructure automation initiatives using Ansible and scripting technologies.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams to resolve caching, application, and platform-related issues.
- Support production environments and ensure platform stability, reliability, and availability.
- Assist with performance tuning, capacity planning, and scalability improvements for caching services.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and support procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
- Follow platform engineering best practices for security, reliability, and system administration.
Required Qualifications- Strong foundational knowledge of Linux system administration.
- Experience working with virtual machines, server environments, or infrastructure platforms.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes, including:
- Pods
- Services
- Deployments
- Cluster operations
- Experience working with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar technologies.
- Understanding of caching concepts, including:
- Key-value stores
- Cache invalidation
- Performance optimization
- Distributed caching principles
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving platform requirements.
- Experience supporting production systems and operational environments.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working with Redis or similar in-memory data stores and caching platforms.
- Experience deploying and managing applications using Helm.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
- Understanding of system performance tuning, scalability, and capacity planning concepts.
- Experience supporting enterprise platform engineering or infrastructure environments.
- Relevant certifications, technical training, internship experience, or coursework related to Linux, Kubernetes, cloud technologies, or platform engineering.
- Experience working in high-availability or mission-critical production environments.
