Manager - Technical Operations Recruitment

Location: New York City, NY

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Remuneration: $70,000-$100,000 base + Uncapped Commission up to 50% + Management Incentives

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced recruiter to play a pivotal role in the continued growth of our Technical Operations practice within DSJ Global's New York office.

This opportunity is ideal for a high-performing recruiter who wants to build something meaningful within a business that is actively investing in growth. Over the next 18-24 months, we expect to double the size of our New York operation from approximately 45 to 90 consultants, creating substantial opportunities for career progression, leadership development, and increased market ownership.

While this role sits at the Manager level, the immediate focus is on growing and scaling a successful Technical Operations desk. We're looking for someone who enjoys developing client relationships, winning business, and establishing themselves as a market leader. For the right individual, there is a clear pathway into management and team leadership as the business continues to expand. Equally, we welcome top-performing individual contributors who are passionate about building a high-performing desk and maximizing their earning potential.

Role Responsibilities

Market Leadership & Strategy
  • Develop and execute a growth strategy for Technical Operations recruitment across North America.
  • Establish DSJ Global as the premier recruitment partner for manufacturing and operations talent.
  • Identify new verticals, submarkets, and geographic opportunities for expansion.
  • Build market presence through client engagement, networking, and thought leadership.
  • Maintain a high-performing personal billing desk while contributing to overall team growth.


Client & Commercial Ownership
  • Lead relationships with key manufacturing, industrial, consumer goods, chemical, life sciences, and food & beverage clients.
  • Expand existing accounts while developing new business opportunities.
  • Advise clients on talent market trends, compensation benchmarking, and workforce planning.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and drive sustainable revenue growth.
  • Develop long-term strategic partnerships with senior hiring leaders.


Team Build & People Development
  • Support the growth and development of consultants within the Technical Operations team.
  • Coach colleagues on business development, candidate management, and account growth.
  • Share market expertise and best practices across the broader business.
  • Lead by example through consistent personal production and commercial success.
  • Play a key role in the continued expansion of a team expected to grow significantly over the next 24 months.


Leadership & Culture
  • Partner closely with senior leadership across DSJ Global and Phaidon International.
  • Contribute to office performance, culture, and strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for developing recruiters.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative team environment.
  • Help shape the future growth and direction of the Technical Operations practice.


Candidate Profile
  • Proven track record as a top-performing recruiter within manufacturing, technical operations, engineering, supply chain, industrial, or related markets.
  • Experience managing client relationships and delivering consistent commercial results.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, or influence peers and junior team members.
  • Strong business development and account management capabilities.
  • Commercially minded with an entrepreneurial approach to market growth.
  • Comfortable operating with high levels of autonomy and accountability.
  • Ambition to progress into leadership or continue building a best-in-class individual contributor career.
