The Real Estate Construction Director role has a national salary range of $104,000- $198,000.

Job Description

To lead construction activity in a consistently changing & more complex environment requiring technical knowledge of: land site/evaluations; design; tender process; contractual appointment; contract management; tenant fit out integration; sustainability initiatives; automation equipment; product analysis; specialized storage; retrieval systems; and carbon reducing technologies. To strategically align with regional and global construction standards including sustainability efforts.

Responsibilities
• Deliver new logistics real estate projects including design, permitting, tendering, program planning, budget planning, and budget/schedule management
• Prepare technical feasibility studies and coordinate technical due diligence
• Draft key technical documents (specifications, permit applications, tender documents, contract appointments)
• Represent the company in front of customers, potential customers, governmental authorities and general contractors
• Obtaining of administrative approvals and permits
• Take a leading position in relation to feasibility studies and comments on the technical solutions
• Prepare project development budgets
• Supervise the solicitation (tender) process for the general contractor and other professional services providers
• Report on the progress of the development to internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor of project costs while anticipating corrective actions aiming at meeting the projects' budgets
• Coordination with internal project and technical managers and external experts
• Consult / provide value-engineering during solution development phase (e.g., proposals phase) to determine the best option for the client

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (i.e. - Construction Management or relevant degree), required
  • Warehouse/Industrial Construction/Facility Management Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar field
  • Must be able to travel 25-30%
  • Thorough knowledge of construction processes, methods, materials, and standards is necessary
  • The ability to plan, organize, coordinator and control large-scale projects
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
  • It is beneficial to have a solid understanding of contract management, procurement, cost elimination and risk management aspects of construction.
