Interventional Radiology TechnologistShift Details
- 5x8-hour Day shifts
- On call, callback, and holiday coverage per unit needs
- On call: 5-7 call shifts per 7-week time block (2-4 of these days will be weekend call)
- 6-month contractors will be considered
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and consistently produces radiologic images of diagnostic quality
- Works cooperatively with all members of the department to resolve problems expediently
- Displays flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness, and accountability when dealing with customers
- Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity for patient rights in all interfaces with patients
Areas of Emphasis
- Instructs and prepares patients for examinations and assists the Radiologist during procedures
- Demonstrates competence and proficiency in operation of all equipment and reports malfunctions to manager or lead
- Completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner and uses time between procedures to the department's advantage - assisting others and/or assisting with room turnover
- Understands his/her role in maintaining medication security to authorized personnel only
- Demonstrates competency in providing health care services in own job category to all age groups
- Demonstrates competency in interpersonal relationships with all age groups
Documentation and Information Management
- Demonstrates competency in the use of the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS
- Participates in hospital performance improvement activities (BPI projects, task forces, etc.) when warranted
- Demonstrates confidentiality using own password and all patient care modules
- Answers telephone inquiries of a technical nature from physicians or hospital personnel in other areas of the hospital while maintaining good phone etiquette
Requirements
- BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
- Two (2) years of experience
- NYS License (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
- ARRT certification
- Technician License (currently any tech license is accepted in the state of NY)
- Interventional Radiology experience
