Job Title: Radiologic Technologist I

Certifications: Must meet requirements for the National Registry and pass examination

- Experience with portable x-rays and pediatrics

Description:
The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
This role performs all essential job functions effectively.
Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, using immobilization devices, and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
Restricts radiation beam through cone and collimating devices to ensure non-exposure of radiation to unaffected parts of the patient.
Performs portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and the emergency room.
Follows operational procedures to identify patient films with name and x-ray number, ensuring correct markings for later reference.
Develops exposed x-ray film using available processing methods.
Completes patient requisitions with technologist initials, date, number, and size of film.
Maintains an orderly x-ray room as directed.
Prepares radiopaque contrast media and assists physicians in administering these mixtures to patients.
Performs administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, providing patient instruction, filing films, maintaining records, and receiving patients.
Renders services and assistance to patients, accommodating their individual needs in moving and positioning on x-ray tables.
Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs., and stands for a minimum of 6 hours a day.
Identifies the needs of the patient population served and provides care tailored to those needs, considering factors such as age, culture, and communication preferences.
Adheres to the standards identified in the Organizational Competencies.
