Full Job Description
With limited supervision and broad general direction, performs administrative duties of supervision within all modalities of Radiology to provide the various services in an efficient manner. Responsible for evaluating and maintaining the quality and appropriateness of the Radiology service on a technical level. Possess knowledge of regulatory requirements and maintains all related QA/QC. Be able to deliver age appropriate patient care needed by each patient age group.

  • Participates in in services and staff training programs as required.
  • Develops and train the staff to improve their skills.
  • Maintains QA/QC records as required by the regulatory agencies.
  • Monitors assigned staff for competency through assessment and annual evaluations.
  • Conducts monthly staff meetings and maintains minutes.
  • All HR related requirements for the staff are met in a timely fashion.
  • Monitors the work flow and productivity in assigned areas.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing for various shifts through timely posting of schedules and documenting changes whenever necessary.
  • Develops mechanisms to evaluate the quality and appropriateness of the various Radiology services and assists the Department Chairman and Director in making such determinations.
  • Mediates individual problems and refers to superiors any unresolved problems relating to staffing, morals, scheduling, work methods, procedures, discipline, transfers safety and other actions regarding assigned personnel.
  • Coordinates and participates in the formal and in-service training programs of the department. Keep abreast of new procedures, equipment and methods and coordinate and participate in their evaluation and application.
  • Coordinates and maintains Quality Control programs for all the modalities including the equipment's and machines to meet the various regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for monitoring patient data in HIS,RIS and PACS system for accuracy as pertaining to radiology examinations and reports.
  • Responsible for and recommends procurement of supplies, equipment and modifications as necessary for practical economical operations.
  • Develops and maintains a high level of customer service.
  • Directs and controls departmental work flow.
  • Responsible for maintaining and upkeep of payroll and other administrative records of personnel.
  • Adhere to the Policy of the Medical Center to ensure that patient information and medical records are treated as confidential, in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Evaluates and maintains standards of quality through staff development, in-services and monitoring. Conducts regular staff meetings and follow up activities. Responsible for annual orientations, competency assessments and evaluations.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing for all the modalities by proper scheduling and monitoring of the staff for their scheduled and unscheduled days off.
  • On-Call and Holiday rotation
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Position Requirements:
  • Experience working in a radiology department or urgent care, preferred
  • Minimum High School Diploma ,BS degree preferred. At least 1-3 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • License New York State, ARRT AMA approved Radiology Technology program, preferred


Non - Union

Days: Sunday through Thursday

Shift: 11pm-7am

Job Type: Full-Time (35 hrs)

Salary: $125,580
