Full Job Description

JOB TITLE:    Radio System Integration and Compliance Engineer(Job Code: CY0226)

JOB DETAILS:

Radio Frequency (RF) Testing & Performance Verification: Execute and analyze RF performance characterization tests for new and existing products (e.g., receiver sensitivity, transmitter power, EVM, linearity). Perform system bring-up, initial debugging, and optimization of radio designs. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex RF issues, including desensitization, spurious emissions, and basic EMI, using RF test equipment (Spectrum analyzer, VNA , Load Pull and callbox). Characterize key RF components (e.g., RFICs, FEMs) to ensure performance meets specifications. Develop and define new test procedures or Product Functional Specification (PFS) items to characterize the RF system performance. Test Automation & Tool Development: Develop, implement, and maintain automation scripts and tools using Python to streamline RF testing and data analysis. Contribute to the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks and support continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Contribute to improving test efficiency, reducing test time, and optimizing test processes. Regulatory Compliance Support: Lead and support in-house radio pre-compliance testing efforts and manage 3rd party radio certification processes for global markets (FCC, ETSI, SRRC, MIC, etc.). Design and build test automation suites to streamline radio compliance testing conducted at 3rd party labs. Maintain an in-depth understanding of evolving radio compliance standards in various regions and global markets, proactively identifying and contributing to strategies for regulatory adherence. RF Simulation & Analysis Support: Support RF simulation efforts using tools like ADS or QUCS to analyze RF system performance. Conduct electromagnetic (EM) simulation of PCB layout-related issues using full-wave simulation solvers such as CST or HFSS. Contribute to evaluating system-level performance metrics, including basic coexistence scenarios. Support link budget analysis and basic interference studies. Manufacturing & JDM Partner Support: Provide technical support and automation for radio production activities at Contract Manufacturing (CM) and Joint Development Manufacturing (JDM) partners. Assist in on-site and remote debugging of radio-related issues during line bring-up and mass production. Contribute to the analysis of factory production line data to identify trends and assist in troubleshooting. Support the definition and optimization of manufacturing processes for radio products. Lab & Test Environment Management: Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure within lab and test environments. Manage and maintain test setups and lab spaces, including test benches and OTA chambers. Prepare and maintain tools and equipment for compliance testing and travel. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with Hardware, Software, Manufacturing, Compliance, and other engineering teams to debug and optimize overall system performance in highly integrated environments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Radio Frequency Engineering, or related field plus 2 years of experience in the offered position or related position.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess expertise/knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Such expertise/knowledge cannot be "quantified" by "time". Required expertise/knowledge includes:

  • Experience in Radio Frequency testing, integration, or product development, for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-enabled devices in the consumer electronics industry.
  • Experience with architecting, developing, and deploying robust Radio Frequency automation test frameworks in Python using libraries (Pandas and NumPy), including designing scalable, maintainable, and reusable code modules to interface with various Radio Frequency test equipment and Devices Under Test (DUTs) as well as analyzing large datasets from radio performance tests and applying statistical methods for anomaly and outlier detection.
