Full Job Description
Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Lead, mentor, and energize a young, Agile engineering team across software and firmware - fostering a culture that thrives on innovation, complex problem-solving, and writing secure, low-defect code.
  • Drive product strategy and technical direction across bespoke web, mobile, desktop, and firmware development, bridging software and hardware disciplines.
  • Champion customer centricity and commercial focus through a well-groomed product backlog spanning IoT, mobile, web, and desktop applications.
  • Own the strategy and execution of the instrument's telemetry and diagnostics platform - from on-device capture of configuration, health, and utilization data through aggregation and cloud/on-prem analytics - ensuring it stays lightweight and never interferes with customer-facing test workflows.
  • Partner with global service, standards, and analytics teams across time zones, and participate in customer beta programs, to validate the platform in the field, refine requirements, and keep data formats consistent as the product line evolves.
  • Document storage format, retrieval behavior, and configuration interfaces so internal consumers and standards owners can rely on consistent, deduplicated, schema-aligned records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field - Electrical Engineering background a strong plus for understanding hardware/software interaction - or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience bringing solutions to market from idea, concept, POC, to fully commercialized products.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ (or equivalent) for embedded/instrument firmware, combined with hands-on experience in React, Angular, or similar modern JS frameworks for building desktop, web, or mobile applications.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) for deploying and scaling backend or analytics services.
  • Demonstrated experience applying AI/ML techniques to product design, development, or tooling problems (e.g., anomaly detection on telemetry data, predictive health/utilization insights).
  • Experience developing embedded or instrument firmware/software on Linux and/or Windows-based platforms, including file-system and persistent-storage design under size and reliability constraints.
  • Passion for mentoring engineers in an Agile environment, developing early-career talent, and building a team culture around solving complex problems together.

Preferred Skills
  • Prior exposure to Keysight-specific (or equivalent) hardware interactions, test-and-measurement instruments, asset or calibration data flows, health/utilization monitoring, or instrument software architecture.
  • Working knowledge of SCPI and of keeping background telemetry activity from interfering with customer test programs.
  • Experience with configurable periodic tasks, power-up initialization sequences, and designing for data retention across offline intervals.
  • Familiarity with structured telemetry or logging formats (JSON or line-delimited records), log rotation, and schema-aligned data matching an external query interface.
  • UX/UI design sensibility for building desktop or web interfaces that present telemetry, asset, and health/utilization data clearly.
  • Experience with networked instrument environments (LAN, with awareness of GPIB/legacy connectivity constraints) and with agents or services that collect data from devices.
  • Ability to collaborate across firmware, systems software, cloud/on-prem analytics, and services organizations; clear written communication for standards-related interface definitions.
  • Prior exposure to Keysight-specific (or equivalent) hardware interactions, test-and-measurement instruments, asset or calibration data flows, health/utilization monitoring, or instrument software architecture.
