Role OverviewOwner's promise to a restaurant isn't software, it's revenue. When a guest lands on a restaurant's site, we want them to find what they're craving, trust what they see, and check out without friction, whether or not the owner ever touches a setting.
As we scale, we're expanding our product engineering leadership to ship faster, raise the bar on the guest ordering experience, and build the systems that make it work across thousands of restaurants. As the Engineering Manager for OLO, you'll lead a team of full-stack engineers building the guest web ordering experience, from menu, cart and checkout to promotions, photos, and the menu quality systems that make about 10,000 merchant-written menus convert like they were designed by a pro. Next, we're taking OLO to enterprise and multi-location brands, and pushing guest conversion toward 10% through disciplined experimentation. This role is equal parts product intuition and technical execution. You'll be trusted to make hard prioritization calls, ship experiments that move revenue, and grow a team that embodies engineering excellence.
We move with urgency, bias toward simplicity, and expect our leaders to be hands-on when needed. If you're energized by ownership, measurable impact, and solving real problems for small business owners, we'd love to hear from you.
Why we're looking for youOwner's promise to a restaurant isn't software - it's revenue. OLO is where that promise gets converted: the guest web ordering experience (menu, cart, checkout, promotions) plus the automated systems that find and fix menu quality problems across roughly 10,000 menus written by merchants we don't control.
We treat conversion as an automated system, not a design review. We build rubrics, detection, and remediation, then prove every change with an experiment. Next, we're taking OLO upmarket to enterprise and multi-location brands and pushing conversion toward 10%.
We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the team through that, keep it healthy, and hold a high bar on what we ship and what we cut.
This role is 100% remote and can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
