  • Serve as primary quality contact for OEM customers
  • Lead supplier quality activities, focusing on audits, development, and PPAP approvals

Quality Manager

Specialized Component Parts (SCP) | Auburn, Indiana
Full-Time | Quality | Reports to Chief Commercial Officer

The Opportunity

SCP is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead our Quality Management System and quality organization.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can manage ISO compliance while also driving improvements across manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and new product launches. The Quality Manager will work closely with Engineering, Product Development, Automation, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, and executive leadership.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and continuously improve our ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
  • Lead internal, customer, supplier, and registrar audits
  • Own CAPA, document control, management review, calibration, and risk management
  • Manage incoming, in-process, and final inspection and testing
  • Drive improvements using SPC, MSA, Gage R&R, Cp/Cpk, Lean, and Six Sigma
  • Reduce defects, scrap, rework, and Cost of Poor Quality
  • Serve as a primary quality contact for OEM customers
  • Lead 8D investigations, warranty analysis, customer scorecards, and corrective actions
  • Lead supplier quality activities, including supplier audits, development, scorecards, and PPAP approvals
  • Support new product launches through APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and Inspection Plans
  • Participate in FAT/SAT activities and validation of automated equipment and vision systems
  • Develop and track meaningful quality KPIs and executive dashboards
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Quality team
  • Promote a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related STEM discipline
  • 7-10 years of manufacturing quality experience
  • 3+ years of quality leadership experience
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, CAPA, and root cause analysis
  • Experience working directly with OEM customers and suppliers
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement
  • Experience with ERP systems; Minitab experience is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Certifications

ASQ CQE, ASQ CMQ/OE, Six Sigma Black Belt, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, or Lean certification are preferred but not required.

  • Maintaining ISO certification with no major findings
  • Strengthening customer and supplier quality performance
  • Reducing scrap and Cost of Poor Quality
  • Improving CAPA effectiveness and closure
  • Standardizing APQP and PPAP processes
  • Establishing meaningful quality KPIs and executive reporting
  • Building a strong, accountable quality organization
