Role Summary

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Quality Manager to lead our team of Plant Quality Engineers. This critical leadership role is responsible for defining and executing quality strategies at a vehicle and system level, ensuring all manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of excellence in collaboration with Service Quality, Reliability, and Manufacturing Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Strategy: Define and drive long-term quality strategies at the vehicle and system level to ensure alignment with organizational goals and customer requirements
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the team of Plant Quality Engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, rapid response, and data-driven decision-making
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Service Quality, Reliability, and Manufacturing teams to identify systemic quality issues, share lessons learned, and implement proactive quality improvements
  • Quality Systems Oversight: Oversee the integrity of factory quality systems, ensuring effective implementation of quality loops, containment protocols and corrective actions across all production lines
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall manufacturing quality, reduce defect rates, and optimize production efficiency
  • Reporting & Governance: Act as the primary point of contact for plant quality performance, providing high-level reporting and insights to senior leadership regarding quality metrics, status, and resolution efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, or a related field)
  • 8+ years of progressive quality engineering and management experience, preferably within automotive or EV manufacturing
  • Proven ability to develop and execute quality strategies in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and motivating engineering teams
  • Deep mastery of core quality tools and standards, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC and 8D methodology
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of driving complex cross-functional resolutions. Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and present complex quality data to executive leadership
  • Must be able to travel up to 20%
  • This position may require availability outside of standard hours to support production needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to working in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for Illinois Based Applicants: The salary range for this position is $125,800 - $157,200 for Illinois based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.

The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
