Full Job Description
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a driven and self-motivated professional to join Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting LP as our Quality Manager! This is a full-time salaried position based in Cranbrook BC, reporting directly to the Corporate Quality Manager.

In this key leadership role, you will lead and support the organization's quality program, providing guidance to operations teams on compliance with all applicable quality standards and contract requirements related to highway maintenance operations.

Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting has provided highway maintenance services for this area of the province since 2001. The western contract boundary is east of and generally parallel to the Kootenay Lake; southern is the US border; eastern is the Alberta border; and northern is to the roundabout at Radium Hot Springs. Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting's office is located in Cranbrook, British Columbia with four supporting maintenance yards in Sparwood, Fairmont, Elko and Yahk.

What you bring:
• Completion of a degree or diploma in Engineering, Business Administration or Construction/Project Management is required, or an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and experience;
• Previous quality control/management, contract interpretation, analytics, field auditing, and report writing experience in the highway maintenance, construction, natural resources, or a closely related industry;
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a management/leadership role in a relevant industry;
• Training and certification in ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 and Lead Auditor Certification.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Sitedocs or similar database system, GIS.
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License with a clean abstract;
• Experience in quality systems.
• Ability to collaborate with internal business partners, senior management, and government agencies.
• Demonstrated ability to deal with difficult situations with tact, professionalism, and creativity.
• Demonstrated leadership - ability to lead by example, build a team environment and foster teamwork;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Experience driving in winter weather conditions;
• Strong communication and presentation skills;
• Background in a strong safety culture;
• Willingness and ability to travel;
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.

This role involves a range of job duties, which include, but are not limited to:
• Perform internal audits to ensure compliance.
• Contract interpretation and application.

• Implement and maintain the QMS.
• Oversee the non-conformity process.
• Work with operations to develop recommendations for improvements.
• Development of app-based forms and management of associated data flow and reporting.
• Manage client feedback.
• Involvement in the environmental and safety programs.
• Produce and update systems and plans related to quality.
• Train operations on systems and plans.
